Yes, they made it to the crest at the top of the picture. I did too a little after but what you can't see in the picture is there are more dunes still going up a little further past the crest. They are smaller but for people, who were expecting to get a view of Lake Michigan after the climb, you have to keep hiking over more dunes for probably 1/2 mile to a mile before hitting the lake. Up was harder physically but down took more work to stay upright. At least if gravity took you down you had something soft to land on. LOL!
