Show and Tell Friday

My husband carved this "ball in a cage chain" from one solid piece of wood. No glue or special openings. I think he's quite talented and I love to show off his carvings.

This is fantastic! How long did it take him to do this? Does the ball move inside of the cage?

Your carving brings back memories for me. My Dad carved boxes with balls inside. He died when I was 4 and Mom let us kids have them. I have no idea where they ended up but I sure wish I had one now! Thanks for the memory!

Wow, that is quite a talent. I am very impressed!! Must be very difficult work, especially getting the ball so round and smooth like that. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed it. :)

Thanks Ladies! I asked my husband if he remembered how long it took him but he didn't remember a specific amount- just that it took a long time. The ball does roll around in the cage too.

That is indeed impressive! I have an uncle who is 90 years old and he used to carve all sorts of things from wood...he also made such a chain using only one piece of wood and I was always so fascinated by it:-) xo
